Every time I watch Revolver I find something new, and when I don’t find something new, then I discover a new meaning for something old. Very very difficult to describe this movie. Most of you will say “What the f*** was that?” after watching it the first time. So that just might be the best reason to sit down and watch this. Don’t be fooled by the classic Guy Richie – Jason Statham mix. You will not expect what’s expecting you. And the best part: it feels the same every time !

Rock’N'Rolla (2008)

I want to say this is a disapointment, but I can’t, knowing the other creations of Guy Richie. So, as a solution, I’ll just say that I guess Guy is targeting a little bit of a different audience with this one as it is not that subtle. Still fresh, still funny and still about the British underground business. However the league is different. Now were talking about music producers, real estate investors, serious jail time and millions of quid in thievery. I’m anxiously expecting “The Real Rock’N'Rolla”.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

If this movie would have a d*** probably a lot of people would knee down and blow it. This right here is Quentin Tarantino at his best. The scenes are great and concentrated, the characters are colorful and charismatic, the dialogs are short, spicy and funny. There are some memorable speeches that are part of the best in the industry. It full of unexpected and keeps you on your toes, but it always seems to give you that “It’s just a movie anyway” kind of glow. Definitely one of my top 10.

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

Straight up masculine movie. Haven’t met one girl to like this movie. Anyway the quick story is about a gang of bad-guys who get together to pull off a heist. As you get more into the movie, the director, Quentin Tarantino (who is also playing in the movie) unveils more and more undercover facts. I like the movie. I like Quentin’s sometimes sick style, but most I like the way he defines his characters with details and different episodes from their past. Anyway most of us probably heard of this big classic and it’s soundtrack. If not, go out and do something about it.

Snatch (2000)

Probably the most famous English movie of the last couple of decades, Snatch is the best creation of Guy Richie yet (at a tie with Revolver as far as I’m concerned). One might even say Richie is the Tarantino of UK but with a larger accent on pamphlet and humor. Snatch is no exception. The characters and their behavior make all the movie worth while. From start to finish you are fully connected and this happens every time. Try to watch the faces of the characters in the background when stuff happens … funny

Kill Bill I (2003)

This has Japanese cartoons written all over it. Tarantino did not let me down with this. The plot is built by a woman seeking revenge. But this is no ordinary woman. She is a trained ex-professional killer, and kill she will. Ridiculous amounts of blood is splashing around in every fight. Some of you might say this is nothing short of ridiculous. I say, it all about the attitude you have whilst facing it. The story is realistic but the way it is transformed on film is quite crazy. Great for martial art lovers and for those who enjoy the shocking flavor it projects in the atmosphere.

Kill Bill 2 (2004)

The first part left it all open. I regards the second part worse then the first. It’s not that shocking anymore. The woman is closer to getting her revenge. And the closer she gets the more we see parts of her history and how she became what she is now. This part is pretty predictable and even boring here and there. All this inevitably leads up to the last confrontation, just like in a video game, with the big boss. After some meaningful (or not) dialog, the last fighting scene begins. A bit weak to be honest.

Public Enemies (2009)

Depp (J. Dillinger) and Bates (M. Purvis) are both playing in a film that I found simply surprising. The story goes about the crime war between the 1930’s gangsters and the US government. A cliché some critics might say. Without spoiling the pleasure to watch it, I will say this: Depp and Bates are again proving they are phenomenal actors, M. Mann, the director, recreates the 30’s like I’ve never seen in a long time and the movie gets a well deserved 7,5 on imdb.com. Thumbs up from my side!

Angels and Demons (2009)

I liked very much the “DaVinci Code”. I saw the movie and also read the book. Now I was quite eager to see the second part and to elucidate mysteries. Like always I was a bit disappointed. The symbols were quite simple, the action nonrealistic and Tom Hanks, whom I liked once, is getting older and older. I was surprised of how many scenes were filmed in Vatican and Rome, and how exposed was the Catholic Church. All in all if you like this kind of films you should see it. You actually might enjoy it.

I am Legend (2007)

I’m not a Will Smith fan. In fact I always thought of him as a stupid prince of Bel Air, but as time passes by he gets a better actor. In this movie he is a scientist who could not stop the spreading of a deadly virus. Along with his best friend Sam, a wolf dog, he tries to find a cure and save humanity. Few times I jumped off the couch because of some hideous characters so you could say that this movie is a thriller as much as it is a drama. Some of the scenes seem impossible to shoot and BTW the ending has an alternative.
